Sisterhood

It’s such an amazing feeling to watch so many different personalities show through one chapter. All seventy-five woman share very diverse interests and majors yet have one common love, Sigma Kappa.

We can be seen around campus wearing our letters and trying to help the community. We enjoy the company of one another if its cramming forty people on the couch to watch the newest episode of Pretty Little Liars or a movie night after Sunday Meeting to crowding around one dinner table to hear about everyone’s day even though we have seven others.

Sigma Kappa is when you feel as if nothing good is going right in the world and you can walk into a room and sit on a bed and cry on the shoulder of a sister who will listen with her whole heart and reassure you that no matter what will come in the future, you will have people who are there for you, not just in college but life.

It doesn’t matter if we take over a whole row on a Friday afternoon in our sweats to see the newest movie at K10 or running around the house at 9pm on Saturday night raiding 35 closets, we know that we are never alone.

Sigma Kappa is more than just a home away from home, it’s a family.

Words from the Gamma Beta’s:

“Sigma Kappa Sisterhood mean to you?”

Si  "Sigma Kappa to me is more than something I can put into words. It’s the feeling I get each and every day when I walk into the house. I know that if something was to ever happen to the house, we would still have one another” –Lauren Nagel, Fall 2009

- “Sigma Kappa is more than a RSO at WMU. It is how I found the people who know me better than I know myself. Being a senior I don’t know what I would have done the past three years. I found not only my friends but myself and I owe that to my sisters. They have been there through the laughs, tears, ups and downs. They were the ones who reassured me that everything was going to be okay not today and maybe not even tomorrow but one day I’ll be happy after my world came crashing down.” – Panhellenic, Fall 2008

-"It's hard to say what sigma kappa means to me because it's not just an organization anymore, it's apart of me. It's one of the closest things to my heart and I know that it always will be. I have grown so much since winter 2010 and I have my sisters and sigma kappa to thank for that. When they say you never understand it until you're apart of it, it's true. It was the best decision I have ever made and I wouldn't trade it for the world."- Alex Maxwell, Winter 2010
